Have you ever gone to a concert mostly because you adore the opening act? I have. This concert is the latest example. Blonde Redhead’s 2007 release, 23, has been one of my favourite albums of the year so I couldn’t just miss them live so close to home, even if it’s only for a way too short 45 minute long set. They played most off of 23 plus some tunes from their previous albums. It was intense, Dr Strangelove and The Dress were wonderful and the final 23 was just the icing on the cake! They seemed to be enjoying themselves and that was very communicative to the crowd which was basically there for Interpol only. Now I only wish Blonde Redhead to come back soon as headliners, that’d be brilliant!
